| The
release of her last album, Missundaztood, found Pink’s
sophomore effort detailing her troubled upbringing and, at the
same time, moving her sound from the realm of pop towards the
world of rock. At the same time, she managed to chart one of the
biggest hits of the past five years with her smash hit, “Get The
Party Started.”
Still, the personal nature of the songs on the disc caused the
singer problems with her family. And while the singer formerly
known as Alecia Moore will not complain about the problems that
her album caused, she also admits that her new album, Try This,
is a less introspective effort.
Instead, Pink veers back towards the upbeat sound of “Party” and
away from songs like “Family Portrait.” On this, her third disc,
she worked more with Rancid frontman Tim Armstrong, and less with
Linda Perry, who produced “Don't Let Me Get Me” and other tracks
on Missundaztood.
The singer discussed working more with Armstrong and less with
Perry. "I needed new blood," Pink said. "And Tim's an underdog,
just like Linda was an underdog. Now she's too busy for me."
