Loon is now part of the next generation of Bad Boy. The singer had several false starts with record labels like Tommy Boy and Arista, but when he was asked to go to Miami to work on his writing with P. Diddy on a project; he ended up staying longer and became a part of the Bad Boy family. Loon described that time working with Puff. "It was like a mutual need situation for me and Puff. He needed a spark after dealing with the court cases and the separation with J-Lo and I needed a spark after all these transitions that I was a victim of, I rally needed to get my swagger back."

He definitely got it back with "I Need a Girl Part 1 and 2," and now drops his debut, self-titled album. "This album is to establish the vibe and style of Loon. I'm just trying to establish my own slot on this first album." Loon illustrates that while this may be a debut album, he's not your average rookie to this game. "This is a freshman approach and you can tell Puff does have influence in the album because of the party dance orientation of the album. You have a rookie of the year player who's playing at the magnitude of a pro like a four-or-five -year vet like a Lebron James. But at the same time you can't deny that Lebron still needs certain support. Once that's developed Lebron is going to be a beast and the next time around nobody is going to have to tell him where to position himself or when to shoot or when to pass."
