| It
is difficult enough for most rappers to get into the business,
that one would not be surprised if Fabolous' career was stunted
permanently by the fact that his debut album, Ghetto Fabolous
was released on one of the darkest days in recent history, September
11, 2001.
Still, if anyone could rescue a career from such adverse circumstances
it is John Jackson (a.k.a. Fabolous), whose debut still debuted
impressively at No. 4. His popularity continued to build throughout
2002, helped tremendously with a memorable appearance on DJ Clue's
New York City radio show.
From there, it was a rocket to the pinnacle of popularity. Teen
People placed him on their list of the 25 Hottest Stars Under
25, Rolling Stone singled him out in their Hot issue, and
Paper magazine included him in their Beautiful People issue.
And he was not just a pretty face. Nelly tabbed him as an opening
act for the rapper's successful Nellyville tour. Yet, despite
his success, Fabolous did not allow success to go to his head.
Despite being barely out of his teens, the rapper showed a maturity
beyond his years.
