RULES "CIARA CONTEST"
NO PURCHASE NECESSARY. VOID WHERE PROHIBITED. MUST BE A LEGAL RESIDENT
OF THE CONTINENTAL UNITED STATES, 13 YEARS OR OLDER. THE FOLLOWING
PROMOTION IS INTENDED FOR VIEWING IN THE UNITED STATES (THE ELIGIBILITY
AREA), ONLY AND SHALL BE CONSTRUED ACCORDING TO NEW YORK LAW. DO
NOT PROCEED FURTHER IN THIS SITE IF YOU ARE NOT LOCATED IN THE ELIGIBILITY
AREA.
ELIGIBILITY: All entrants must be at least thirteen (13) years of
age or older, and be legal residents of the Eligibility Area. Any
entrant between the ages of thirteen and eighteen (13-18) must receive
parental consent before entering the Sweepstakes. Employees of Groovevolt.com,
MEI, Laface Records, Southpole, Groovevolt.com and their advertising
agencies and/or promotional partners and members of their immediate
family (defined as parents, children, siblings, and husband or wife)
together with those with whom such employees are domiciled, as well
as sweepstakes judges, are not eligible to enter. One entry per
person.
TIMING: The Sweepstakes begins at 10:00 A.M. (ET) on November 1,
2004 and ends at 12:00 A.M. (ET) on December 1, 2004 (Sweepstakes
Period). The deadline for receipt of entry is 12:00 A.M. (ET) on
December 1, 2004.
The Southpole
“Goodies” Contest is sponsored by TEEN PEOPLE, 1271
Avenue of the Americas, New York, NY 10020, Southpole, and Groovevolt.
Open only to residents of the contiguous 48 States and the District
of Columbia (void in Alaska and Hawaii) who are 13-24 years old.
Employees and immediate family members of TEEN PEOPLE and Southpole
are not eligible. All federal, state and local laws and regulations
apply.
TO ENTER: Log on to www.groovevolt.com and tell us what your favorite
“goodies” are in music, television, and movies. Alternate
entry: send a postcard with your written entry and include your
name, address, city, state, phone numbers (home and cell) and email
address. Send to Southpole “Goodies” Contest c/o TEEN
PEOPLE P.O. Box 5578, New York, NY 10185-5578. One (1) entry per
person. In case of multiple entries, only the first entry will be
accepted. TEEN PEOPLE and Southpole are not responsible for technical
failures in entry transmission, or lost, late, misdirected, damaged,
incomplete, illegible or postage due mail. No mechanically reproduced
entries allowed. The contest begins on November 1, 2004 and all
entries must be received by December 1, 2004. All entries will be
judged by marketing representatives of TEEN PEOPLE and Groovevolt.com.
WINNER SELECTION: Entries will be judged 100% on creativity of the
written entry. Decisions of the judges are final and binding in
all respects. Winner will be notified by mail on or about December
13, 2004. PRIZES.
Once submitted all entries become the property of Sponsors and none
will be returned. GRAND PRIZE: One (1) lucky winner and a friend
will receive a trip to New York City to attend TEEN PEOPLE’s
What’s Next party. Prize package includes round-trip airfare
for winner and one (1) guest, double-occupancy hotel accommodations
for one (1) night, dinner, limo transportation to/from event, a
$250 Southpole outfit for winner and a friend, and a Groovevolt
prize pack including a mini I-pod, a $150 gift certificate to itunes,
and an autographed CD. Approximate retail value of grand prize is
$3,000.
FIRST PRIZES: Five (5) Groovevolt prize packs including three packages.
No cash or prize substitution is allowed except by Sponsors, who
reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value
in the event of unavailability. Prize is not transferable. By entering,
participants agree to be bound by the Official Rules. By accepting
a prize, each winner grants to Sponsor the right to use the winner's
name, address and/or likeness for advertising and winners’
submission for trade purposes without limitation and without further
compensation or permission, unless prohibited by law.
LIMITATIONS: Winner must be available to travel on dates specified
by Sponsors. The Grand Prize must be taken on dates and times designated
by Sponsors or prize will be forfeited in its entirety and awarded
to an alternate winner selected at random from the remaining eligible
entries. The grand prize winner (or in the case of a minor, winner's
parent or legal guardian) will be required to sign and return an
affidavit of eligibility and publicity/liability release. Prize
may be forfeited and an alternate winner selected if affidavit is
not returned within fourteen (14) days of notification attempt or
if prize notification letter or prize is returned undeliverable.
By accepting prize, each winner also agrees to release Sponsor and
its parent company, affiliates, subsidiaries, employees, officers,
directors, shareholders, and advertising, promotional or judging
agencies from any and all liability, claims or actions of any kind
whatsoever for injuries, damages or losses to persons and property
which may be sustained in connection with the receipt, ownership,
possession, use, misuse, loss, or misdirection of any prize, or
while preparing for, participating in, and/or traveling to or from
any prize-related activity.
WINNER’S LIST: A list of confirmed winners’ names will be posted
at www.groovevolt.com on or about ten days after the sweepstakes
has expired. For the winners' name (available after January 31,
2004), send a self addressed stamped envelope to “Southpole
Goodies Contest” c/o TEEN PEOPLE Magazine, 1271 Avenue of
the Americas, Room 35-16B, New York, NY 10020.
