The fifth time was the charm for 16-year-old singer Chris Brown. After holding the No. 2 spot for a month, Brown’s “Run It!” knocked Kanye West’s “Gold Digger” (featuring Jamie Foxx) out of the top spot on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart, ending West’s 10-week run at No. 1.
“Run It!” holds the top spot on the R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart, rises from No. 3 to No. 2 on the Pop 100, and jumps from No. 5 to No. 3 on the Hot Digital Songs Chart. West’s “Gold Digger” continues to hold the top spot on the Pop 100.
The Black Eyed Peas’ “My Humps” rises from No. 3 to No. 2 on the Hot 100 and takes the No. 1 spot on both the Hot Ringtones and Hot Digital Songs charts, unseating “Gold Digger” on both charts. West’s track falls to No. 2 on both the Hot Ringtones and Hot Digital Songs tallies.
Young Jeezy’s “Soul Survivor” (featuring Akon) holds the No. 4 spot and Nickelback’s “Photograph” remains at No. 5.
The week’s top debut is Lindsay Lohan’s “Confessions of a Broken Heart (Daughter to Father).” D4L’s “Laffy Taffy” is the chart’s greatest sales gainer, and Trina’s “Here We Go” (featuring Destiny’s Child’s Kelly Rowland) is the week’s greatest airplay gainer.
