Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger and Eurythmics’ Dave Stewart took home a Golden Globe award for Best Original Song at the ceremony which took place in Los Angeles, California on Sunday night (January 16).
The duo took home the award for “Old Habits Die Hard,” from the film Alfie. On stage, Jagger joked, I’d like to thank Dave Stewart for getting me into this mess.
In another notable music-related award, Jamie Foxx took home the prize for Best Performance by an Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy, for his performance in Ray, in which Foxx played the title character.
“I sat with Ray Charles and I was playing with him and I hit a wrong note, and he said, ‘Now why the hell would you do that?’” an emotional Foxx said during his acceptance speech. “I said, ‘I don’t know,’ and he said, ‘The notes are right underneath your fingers. Life is the notes right underneath your fingers. All you have to do is take time out to play the right notes.’”
