In the latest issue of Vogue magazine, Jennifer Lopez speaks out about her current marriage to Marc Anthony, her mistakes with actor Ben Affleck and her upcoming Spanish album.
"When everything was happening with Ben," she says, "I realized talking about stuff just feeds the machine. It threatens what I love most; my work. And it is also very, very dangerous for my personal life. I was very open, and it didn't work for me."
She also makes a note about her recent Oprah appearance in which she declined to answer any questions about her personal life. "When the audience clapped and was very supportive I started crying. I don't expect anybody else to understand, because their not in my position," she adds, "because I know I've made mistakes!"
While Lopez is planning the release of Rebirth in March, she is also working on a Spanish album which is produced by Anthony.
"You just feel like your in good hands. This is right, this is wrong, this is good, this is not good. And you're like, It's good? It's good! You get that type of security. You feel that safe," she says.
The singer speaks about many of the songs on her Spanish album to Vogue reporter Jonathan Van Meter. At times, she plays tracks from both upcoming albums, leaving Van Meter to say, "I am nevertheless surprised by how big her voice is and weirdly moved by the sincerity of the moment."
Rebirth has already spawned the out-of-the-box hit, "Get Right," which was the number one song added to radio in its first week. There is no official date for the release of her first Spanish album. |
